Spreading Faqr, One Among The Main Objectives Of Tehreek Dawat-e-Faqr
Allah says:
وَلۡتَکُنۡ مِّنۡکُمۡ اُمَّۃٌ یَّدۡعُوۡنَ اِلَی الۡخَیۡرِ وَ یَاۡمُرُوۡنَ بِالۡمَعۡرُوۡفِ وَ یَنۡہَوۡنَ عَنِ الۡمُنۡکَرِ ؕ وَ اُولٰٓئِکَ ہُمُ الۡمُفۡلِحُوۡنَ۔
Meaning: “And from amongst you there must be a group of people who would invite mankind towards having intimate knowledge and closeness of Allah, they would bid righteousness and forbid evil. And (only) they are the successful ones”. (Al-Imran-104)
In this verse “مَعۡرُوۡفِ ” means to gain gnosis of someone. “یَاۡمُرُوۡنَ بِالۡمَعۡرُوۡفِ ” means to invite, instruct or command others to have gnosis of Allah. It is the religious obligation of every true Muslim to obey religious commands and prohibitions. The path of Faqr is in fact the path of religious command or gnosis.
Therefore, Faqr is the only way for esoteric and exoteric purification of the Muslims. Muslims have rejected this way. Eventually, they are only disgraced and dishonored in the world. In order to elevate Muslims to higher levels is one of the main objectives of Tehreek Dawat e Faqr.
Iqbal’s Teachings Of Faqr
Iqbal says:
کیا گیا ہے غلامی میں مبتلا تجھ کو
کہ تجھ سے ہو نہ سکی فقر کی نگہبانی
یہ فقر مردِ مسلماں نے کھو دیا جب سے
رہی نہ دولت سلمانیؓ و سلیمانیؑ
Meaning: You are slave of other nations because you could not guard treasure of Faqr. When Muslims lost this treasure, they had deprived of the worldly respect. Moreover, they had lost their status in front of Allah as well.
ہمت ہو اگر تو ڈھونڈ وہ فقر
جس فقر کی اصل ہے حجازی
اس فقر سے آدمی میں پیدا
اللہ کی شان بے نیازی
مومن کی اسی میں ہے امیری
اللہ سے مانگ یہ فقیری
